We are sad to announce that the Seattle Supersonics have yet to return to the city. You can see their old arena in the photo above.

Teams

Seattle Kraken

The newest expansion team of the four major professional sports, the Seattle Kraken have the distinction of being a pro sports team that doesn't end in "S".

Their inclusion in the NHL is a good thing for the Emerald City, as the league needs the devotion that Seattle fans can offer the team. Plus, there is a natural rivalry that can form with the Vancouver Canucks. There is no real history to dive into, so let's update this after their inaugural season.

Seattle Mariners

Ken Griffey Jr. The Kid. One of the greatest to play the game of baseball and certainly the greatest player to wear a Mariners jersey.

Randy Johnson. The Big Unit. What a terrifying pitcher to oppose. We wouldn't be surprised if he could throw a ball through another human. Heck, just check out what he did to that bird.

Then there's Alex Rodriguez, Edgar Martinez, and of course Ichiro. The Seattle Mariners have had some truly exceptional players come through the Kingdome, and then Safeco Field.

Unfortunately, the Seattle Mariners have never won the World Series. In fact, the Mariners have never played in the World Series. And while the closest the Mariners came to October glory was in 2000, losing 4-2 to the Yankees in the ALCS, it's the 1995 "Griffey Slide" ALDS that is the most memorable of all their successes (or lack thereof).

Don't believe us? Ask Macklemore. He'll tell you all about Dave Niehaus's My Oh My call of the victory. Macklemore even mentions Big League Chew (baseball gum) in the song, so you know it's good.

Seattle Seahawks

When we think of the Seahawks, we think of past players such as Steve Largent, Shaun Alexander, Cortez Kennedy, and Matt Hasselbeck. Then there's the Legion of Boom years of the mid 2010's. Then there's the otherworldly deep passing from current QB, Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks have been to the Super Bowl 3 times, twice under Wilson and once with Hasselbeck and Alexander during the 2005 season. They were only successful in winning against the Broncos in XLVIII, 43-8.

The biggest thing the Seahawks have going for them though is their fantastic uniforms. Those unis scream GO route all day, every day. It also helps that their QB and their WRs are a perfect match for streaking toward the end zone every other play.

Start your own Legion of Boom by dominating the Super Bowl drinking game at your SBLVI party.
